🐃 The "Sick Carabao" Scam
The classic Filipino dating scam — sudden emergencies requiring your money:
- "My mother is in the hospital" — Needs ₱20,000+ for medical bills
- "Our carabao died" — Family's livelihood depends on you replacing it
- "My father had a stroke" — "Only you can help us"
- "I need to pay tuition for my sibling" — School deadline approaching
Reality: Genuine Filipinas feel EMBARRASSED to ask for money. If she's asking before you've even met in person — red flag.
📱 Load Scams (Phone Credit)
This is almost unique to the Philippines. "Load" = prepaid phone credit.
- ❌ "Send me load so we can keep talking"
- ❌ "My phone is out of credits, please send ₱500"
- ❌ "I can't afford WiFi, send me load for data"
Reality: Load costs ₱50-₱100 per week. If she can't afford ₱2, she's either extremely poor (unlikely to be online) or running this on multiple men simultaneously.
💸 Money Transfer Before Meeting
Any request for money before meeting in person is a red flag:
- ❌ "Send money for my visa/passport"
- ❌ "I need fare to travel and meet you"
- ❌ "Help me pay rent this month"
- ❌ ANY financial request before meeting face-to-face
👤 Catfishing & Fake Profiles
Signs of a fake profile on Filipino dating sites:
- • Professional model-quality photos (reverse image search!)
- • Refuses video calls — THE biggest red flag
- • Vague or inconsistent answers about life details
- • Wants to move to WhatsApp/Telegram immediately
- • Falls "in love" within days without meeting
💔 The "Agency" Scam
Some scammers pretend to be from "matchmaking agencies" or claim the girl needs you to pay an "introduction fee." Legitimate dating sites like ChristianFilipina don't work this way — you message women directly.
